Gerard Butler

This Scottish almost-lawyer traded in his higher education to pursue acting, little did he know that he would fall into some plum roles and STILL not be recognized.
Leading off with small roles in British TV and stage productions, Gerard Butler found himself playing one of the most feared warriors in history for the USA Network production of Attila and then followed up with donning black to play the seductive, yet dialogue challenged, Count Dracula in Wes Craven’s Dracula 2000 (or Dracula 2001 depending on where you live).
Follow that with slaying dragons alongside Christian Bale and Matthew McConnaughey in Disney’s multi-million dollar Reign of Fire and one would think…..what next? That’s easy — a Granada Television British mini-series The Jury and a trip back to 14th century France in Richard Donner’s production of Michael Crichton’s Timeline as its hero Andre Marek. He found himself opposite Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider 2 and cast as the masked madman in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera. Not bad for a lawyer.
Since then, he has risen to international fame with his turn as Spartan King Leonidas in 300, the dead husband opposite Hilary Swank in PS, I Love You, a father and a hero in Nim’s Island and starring roles in the films, Game, RockNRolla, The Ugly Truth and Law Abiding Citizen. How can he NOT be a one2watch4?

I clicked on 3 stars by mistake…I wanted to click on 5!!!!! He’s more like 10 stars out of 5!!!!! i love this Scotsman!!!!!! He has everything: handsome face, killer body, tallness, sexiness, sense of humor, intelligence, wittiness, silliness, likeability, athleticism, talent, and so much more. Give us more Gerard Butler!
On a clear night you can see thousands of stars in the sky. In Hollywood there are thousands of stars. But once in a great while there is one that shines much brighter. He is the one to watch.
I first found Gerard Butler when he played the Phantom….2005! I have never cared for Hollywood actors but Gerry is different….a superb actor, has a killer sense of humor, doesn’t take himself too seriously, caring, intelligent, funloving and boy, he sure is easy on the eyes! I love any role he plays and he does each and every one so well. I can’t wait for his new one….Law Abiding Citizen in which he plays a vigilante bent on avenging the deaths of his family. When he challenges himself…this is when he gives an extraordinary performance! I can’t wait. He definitely is the one to watch!!!!
I definitely agree with you, ladies: If all the words in the dictionary that convey the idea of magnificence could be brought to life, Mr. Butler would incarnate them all.
I also “found” him as The Phantom & since then I have collected every movie
he’s made. His infectious wit, charm & personality has captured a legion of
admirers all over the world. Gerry, we all LOVE YOU. Have a great 2009.

I have to admit to a bit of prejudice [I lived in Suffolk, England for 4 years, my “Scot” surname–McCabe),but even as an “old” woman of 59, I still think of Gerard as a fetching, randy and winsome young man.
Being a Scot I absolutely love Gerry….I have all his movies. Just one look and you go weak at the knees..His eyes are like deeep pools.
He is a very under-rated actor and should be up there with the best…go Gerry Go…
We can’t get enough of you
I first noticed Gerard Butler when he played “Phantom of the Opera”. I became one of his fans from that day on. For me he is and always will be the Phantom and I hope that Andrew Lloyd Webber recognizes this if and when he makes the sequel film.
I fell in Love with gerry when I saw Attila, I wondered who in the hell is that. He is so fine.
I first saw him in Phantom, wrote down his name, went home & devoured everything I could find on him! He was PHANtastic!! I too have all his movies, love how manly he is, with all the perks of his personality too. I’m sooo glad he’s finally getting the “big star” recognition he very much deserves.
It’s his eyes that first reach out and grab you, but the more you see and learn of this *insert endless adoring adjectives* man, the more you want to see and learn…he’s truly addictive, and such a nice person to boot–the real deal!!
Oh YES !!!
