Eden Rock Media, Kintop/Reliance L.P. , Urban Island and Looby Lou Begin Production on Genre Bending TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL

Calgary, Canada – July 8, 2009 — Production has begun in Calgary on TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL, a genre bending comedy which makes fun of horror clichés. Tyler Labine stars as “Dale” alongside Alan Tudyk as “Tucker,” two good natured hillbillies who are mistakenly accused of being psycho killers by a group of college kids camping at the same lake where the hillbillies have just acquired a dilapidated cabin as their “summer home.” Katrina Bowen also stars.

TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL is directed by Eli Craig, from a screenplay, acknowledged as one of the industry’s best unproduced scripts, by Craig and Morgan Jurgenson. Craig and Jurgenson met while attending the USC School of Cinema, and co-wrote the script after graduation. Craig is the writer/director of the award winning short film “The Tao of Pong”. He is repped by CAA.

Tyler Labine will next be seen in the Fox series “Sons of Tucson.” He is well known to audiences for his appearances on “Reaper” and “Invasion.” Alan Tudyk is a regular on “Dollhouse.” His feature credits include “Knocked Up” and “Serenity.” Katrina Bowden stared as Cerie on the long running “30 Rock.”

TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL is produced by Eden Rock Media, Kintop/Reliance L.P. , Urban Island and Looby Lou. The producers are Deepak Nayar, Morgan Jurgenson, Albert Klychak and Rosanne Milliken. The executive producers are Thomas Augsberger and Mark Ryan. Foreign sales will be handled by Nicolas Chartier’s Voltage Pictures. Already, Sony UK has pre-bought UK rights and Andre Boissier’s Revolutionary Media has acquired rights for Eastern Europe .

Thomas Augsberger’s credits include “Mr. Brooks” and “Waiting.” Deepak Nayar produced “Buena Vista Social Club” and “Bend It Like Beckham.” UK based financier and producer Mark Ryan previously provided part of the financing for “Layer Cake” and is now taking on a more hands on role. Canada’s Rosanne Milliken and Albert Klychak were involved with “Home Alone II.”
