The event boasted the Nation's largest Red Carpet New Year's Eve event filled with celebrities, live performances, DJs and dancing as attendees who rang in the New Year high above Hollywood Boulevard as they took over the World Famous Hollywood & Highland Center featuring the Governor's Ballroom where Hollywood’s biggest stars party for the Oscars. The biggest names in Japanese pop music gather for this once-in-a-lifetime concert spanning genres and generations. Iconic Japanese electro-pop pioneers Yellow Magic Orchestra (with original members Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi) return for their first show in L.A. since 1979. Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori reunite Cibo Matto for this special night, which will also feature rare U.S. appearances by Buffalo Daughter and DJ Towa Tei, plus traditional kabuki-style dance, taiko drumming and experimental contemporary visuals for an unforgettable evening celebrating Japan. The seventh annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert honored Depeche Mode lead singer Dave Gahan and Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on May 6. Aerosmith's Steven Tyler presented Gahan with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund, and for his commitment to helping other addicts with the addiction recovery process. The curatorial online project Scissorhands 20th created by artist Sebastien Mesnard, is an ongoing online blog that features the work of artists from across the globe, creating works inspired by the story and its' characters and executed through the artists own unique approach. In collaboration with Sebastien Mesnard, Gallery Nucleus will be showcasing a selection of original works from the Scissorhands 20th blog. The exhibit will highlight the works of over 40 artists, including paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, etc. and unite enthusiasts and fans in celebrating the 20th anniversary of Tim Burton's classic love story and its unforgettable characters; Edward, Kim, Peg and a band of colorful suburbanites. November 7th, 2010 the Freedom Awards celebrated heroes of the anti-slavery movement. The awards were open to organizations and individuals working to eradicate human trafficking and modern-day slavery. An all-ages evening full of music by talented artists and emerging musicians is presented by Koffeehouse and proceeds of the fundraiser went to MusiCares. The evening featured the most talented emerging artists and special guests, including Island Def Jam recording artist Jon McLaughlin, Ironworks recording artist HoneyHoney and Verve/Universal recording artist Katharine McPhee.
