Race to Witch Mountain
I so wanted to love this movie. I really, really did, but by the end it was more like “Race to get out of the theater.”
I absolutely adore Dwayne Johnson, so I was excited to see this remake of the films I remember as a child with his smiling face leading the way. The action, the camp, the cheesiness of it all. All I was left with was a boring, run-of-the-mill movie that even my six year old couldn’s stay awake in the middle of the afternoon for.
It’s unfortunate because this cast held so much potential. It was all a total waste of talent though. The kids were playing the role of aliens, but their monotone voices grated on you until the end when they finally became more animated. Carla Gugino had great chemistry with the lovely Mr. Johnson, it’s too bad her role came so near the end. Their interaction and lovability could have totally saved the film.
I would definitely wait for Netflix if you haven’t seen this one yet.
