Tahmoh Penikett

When you think of Canada, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Snow-topped mountains? Naked Mounties in the snow? (Okay, maybe that second is just me. A woman can dream.) What about a talented, extremely good-looking hot actor by the name of Tahmoh Penikett?
If his name doesn’t sound familiar to you, then perhaps you know him by another – Karl “Helo” Agathon of “Battlestar Galactica”. Over the course of the show’s five year run, Tahmoh developed Helo into a loving husband, caring father, and overall moral compass for the crew of Galactica. Not bad for a character originally scripted for only a few episodes. (Thank the gods someone knew a frakkin’ good actor when they saw one!)
As “Galactica” sailed off into the sunset, Tahmoh moved on to star in Joss Whedon’s newest endeavor, “Dollhouse”. He plays the highly principled law enforcement agent Paul Ballard determined to crack the case of a secret society that caters to the whims of its rich clientele. It may sound like a wonderful world to play in, but Agent Ballard suspects there is an unseemly side to the business and nothing is going to deter him from exposing the truth. Recently picked up for a second season, he (and his fine body…of work) will be around for some time.
He’s not all serious business though. Not only did he take a tongue-in-cheek role in the Canadian-produced film The Green Chain, but he’s also loaned his voice to Cartoon Network’s “Robot Chicken”. You gotta love a man who’ll go on “Chicken”.
On a side note, I hear that filming is starting soon on a small budget production of The Hobbit in New Zealand. Mr. Jackson, Mr. del Toro, Tahmoh would make a gorgeous elf. I’m just sayin’. Gonna sit back now and wait for the check for my finder’s fee to come in the mail. (You’re welcome, Tahmoh).
