Henry Cavill

I’m embarrassed to admit that although I probably thought he was cute in his supporting roles in The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) and Tristan and Isolde (2006), Henry Cavill didn’t officially catch my eye until Twilight author Stephenie Meyer mentioned him as her first choice to play every female’s current vampire fantasy, Edward Cullen, in the film adaptation of her bestselling novel. Luckily for my selfish side that would like to keep Henry still somewhat of a secret, rumor has it that he was deemed “too old” for the part, and has, thankfully, been shielded from the screams of obsessive Twi-hards worldwide.
While Henry hasn’t reached Robert Pattinson’s level of fame, he’s certainly keeping busy. This 26-year-old Brit that hails from Jersey (an island in the English Channel, not the US state) has been setting hearts aflutter as the sexy, womanizing Duke of Suffolk, Charles Brandon, in Showtime’s steamy historical drama, “The Tudors”. In addition, his Woody Allen film, Whatever Works (releasing June 19th, LA and NYC), in which he plays Evan Rachel Wood’s love interest, recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Variety has also reported that Henry has been in negotiations for the lead role of Theseus in director Tarsem Singh’s (The Fall) War of Gods.
If you’d like to check out some of Henry’s older work in addition to the aforementioned projects, I would recommend the film adaptations of Dodie Smith’s lovely coming-of-age story, I Capture the Castle (2003), and Neil Gaiman’s fantasy-adventure, Stardust (2007). While Henry is both brilliant and delectable eye candy in the former, his role in the latter is much smaller and almost unrecognizable—but watch it because the movie is fabulously fun.
Finally, if you’re still not convinced of Henry’s incredible ability to smolder, check out his Dunhill fragrance commercials below. Gorgeous, yet a little rough around the edges, Henry definitely proves that he’s more manly man than pretty boy…and a talent to be reckoned with. Watch out, RPattz!

I first met Eric Johnson six years ago when he was a high school student and I was a journalism student.
He had just made his big screen debut in Legends of the Fall. And what a debut it was, spending screen time opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Not too shabby for a 15 year old from Edmonton, Canada.
“It was my first glimpse at Hollywood movie making. And just the grand scale of things blew my mind away,” says Eric, sipping on a coffee. Read more
