Lee PaceBest known to his adoring fans as Ned, the Pie Maker, Lee Pace has been turning heads this past year for his charming portrayal of an unassuming baker who can bring the dead back to life with one touch on ABC’s  Pushing Daisies.

However, this classically trained actor with a BFA from Julliard first caught Hollywood’s eye in 2003 with his first major on-screen role in Showtime’s made-for-television movie, Soldier’s Girl.  Based on a true story, his brave and powerful performance as a transsexual nightclub dancer who falls in love with a soldier was lauded by critics and even earned Lee his first Golden Globe nomination (his second was for Pushing Daisies).  The following year, Lee was featured in Pushing Daisies creator, Bryan Fuller’s wonderfully witty, but sadly short-lived FOX dramedy, Wonderfalls.

In addition to Daisies, Audiences recently caught Lee opposite the lovely Amy Adams as the dashing dreamboat pianist, Michael, in the 1930’s-set romantic comedy, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day.  He can next be found starring in visual master Tarsem Singh’s amazing epic fantasy, The Fall, terrifying Sarah Michelle Gellar in the psychological thriller, Possession, and continuing to solve mysteries with the enchanting Pie Hole gang in the second season of Pushing Daisies.

Finally, here’s a funny tidbit that sums up Lee’s appeal: Much to Amy Adam’s embarrassment, Miss Pettigrew director, Bharat Nalluri, asked Lee to leave the set during filming because his co-star couldn’t concentrate and was “distracted by his masculinity.”  No worries, Amy.  We completely understand.
