Cameron Bright

Cameron BrightOk I’m not going to mince words here – Cameron Bright plays creepy kids really well. It’s got to be the eyes and that serious expression of his. But I’ve got to tell you, I love those eyes and when this guy smiles…whoa! So what does the future hold for this Canadian actor as he crosses over from child roles to adult ones? Ugh, I’m going to hate myself for saying this: well the future is really BRIGHT for BRIGHT. And perhaps a coveted role in a monster of a movie will open bigger doors for this blue-eyed boy.

Like fellow one2watch4 actor Nicholas Hoult, Cam started in the business at a very young age. So by the time he turned 16 in 2009, he’d had 10 years of experience behind him. His first big role was in the reincarnation themed film Birth (2004), with Nicole Kidman. Did you see this one? The story is Cam’s character claims to be the reincarnation of Kidman’s dead husband. There are some uncomfortable moments that the very young Bright handled exceptionally well. It was that kind of concentration that landed him parts in Ultraviolet (2006), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and Thank You for Smoking (2006).

I have a feeling though we’ll be talking about Cameron’s career in terms of pre and post -New Moon. Cameron says when the call came to come in for an audition for the role of the powerful Volturi Alec he was unable to make the trip from Vancouver Island to the production office in the city. Distraught at the idea of losing out on such a momentous opportunity, Bright’s thought was to call the casting director and apologize profusely. His agent calmed him down, stating that they were more than likely going to just offer him the part without having to meet with him. And they did. You gotta figure that’s due in large part to the reputation this young actor has garnered for himself. And his interaction with Twilight fans at premieres and events insures he’ll be a favorite in no time.

Gracious and intelligent, this kid is going to go far. We have the next in the Twilight Saga, Eclipse to look forward to and the almost-certain Breaking Dawn. Also look for a couple newer, but smaller titles, An American Affair and Walled In on DVD. Oh and Cam has a twitter account you can follow, you know in case you want to get to the real guy, behind blue eyes.

Kellan Lutz

EMMETT (Kellan Lutz)Let it be known that I am a Wolf Girl. I prefer my men hot and furry, at least when it comes to the Twi-verse. But variety, I’m told, is the spice of life so I am not opposed to the occasional venture over to the cold and sexy vampire side. When you look at Kellan Lutz, can you blame me? Rock hard abs, penetrating blue eyes, guns that should be illegal. Mmm, and that sly little grin of his. One look at Mr. Lutz tells you that he knows what he’s working with. And the women of the world swoon collectively in gratitude. Yes, Kellan Lutz is definitely a VILF.

For those of you unfamiliar with the world of Twilight, 24 year old Kellan plays Emmett Cullen, Edward’s bear of a big brother. Emmett is the kind of guy that will wrap you in a great big hug while he rips off the head of your enemy behind your back. A nice guy to have on your side, for sure.

Born in North Dakota and raised in Arizona, Kellan began his career as a model. (Shocking, right?) Twilight marks his first major theatrical role, but it will definitely not be his last. Kellan currently has three films in post production including Warrior, with his Twilight co-star Ashley Greene, Meskada, and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Previous credits include guest starring spots on “CSI: NY”, “Six Feet Under”, and “CSI”, as well as a recurring role on the new and “improved” “90210″. This is where he met his off-again/on-again girlfriend Anna Lynn McCord. The couple is, sadly, not at all shy about sucking face all over L.A., so if you’re interested feel free to Google those images. There’s also a Youtube video for the truly brave. It’s not pretty though. You’ve been warned.

Dubious girlfriend choices aside, the self-described “mama’s boy” seems to be a truly nice guy. And ladies, while we might lust after the bad boy, isn’t it really the good ones that win our hearts in the end? While you’re Googling, why don’t you try a search for Kellan and his dog Kola. Go ahead. I’ll wait…… Are you back? Was that an “awe” I just heard? Indeed his devotion to his furry friend is enough to tip a girl right over the edge into the wonderful, lusty abyss (you know, if for some strange reason the abs and arms weren’t enough for you). Oh, did I mention he also has brains? Before breaking into acting Kellan was on track to study chemical engineering in college. A handsome, strong, intelligent man who loves his mama and can protect you from the boogeyman? Sign me up! (Just don’t tell the wolves!)

051909_newmoonposter.jpgFrom the official site: In the second installment of Stephanie Meyer’s phenomenally successful TWILIGHT series, the romance between vampire and mortal soars to a new level as BELLA SWAN (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of – only to find herself in greater peril than ever before.

Following Bella’s ill-fated 18th birthday party, EDWARD CULLEN (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the town of Forks, Washington in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year, numb and alone, she discovers Edward’s image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy.  Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks.

With the help of her childhood friend JACOB BLACK (Taylor Lautner), Bella refurbishes an old motorcycle to carry her on her adventures. Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob, a member of the mysterious Quileute tribe, who has a supernatural secret of his own.

When a chance enounter brings Bella face to face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it frightening clear that Bella is still in grave danger. In a race against the clock , Bella learns the secret of the Quileute and Edward’s true motivation for leaving her. She also faces the prospect of a potentially deadly reunion with her beloved that is a far cry from the one she hoped for. With more of the passion, action and suspense that made TWILIGHT a worldwide phenomenon, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON is a spell-binding follow up to the box office hit.

Jackson Rathbone

October 29, 2009 by Octavia Violet

JasperBite me or sing to me, vampire or rock star; either way, I’m all yours! Jackson Rathbone, my personal favorite reason to be excited about the opening of New Moon, is a perfectly adorable “Jack-of-all-entertainment-trades’ – vampire, movie & TV actor, musician, singer, composer – there’s apparently nothing this boy can’t do, and do very well indeed.

Jackson first came to general notice in November ‘08, by playing one of the key secondary characters in the Twilight Universe, Jasper Whitlock-Hale-Cullen. (Jasper’s proper surname depends upon what point of the book/movie saga you are referring to!) While many of the young actors in the film ignited furious debate over whether they were the right choices to play the much beloved Twilight characters, Jackson was universally accepted as an excellent ‘spot on’ Jasper. In spite of having limited screen-time in the film, Jackson managed to breathe life into the non-breathing vampire, enough to make his brief scenes memorable ones. For myself, one of the few warm-blooded females who did NOT fall into a swoon at the sight of Robbie Pattinson, the films’ brooding ‘Edward’ – I found Mr. Rathbone to be the most attractive male in a cast positively filled with Fan Girl ‘eye candy.’ Voicing this opinion often produced the comment: “You mean the one that looks like Edward Sissorhands?” And my reply: “Why do you say that like it’s a bad thing? Edward Sissorhands is JOHNNY DEPP, after all!!”

With a little research, I soon discovered that there was a great deal more to Jackson than being convincing in golden contacts and swinging a mean vampire baseball bat. He has several TV appearances on his resume, as well as some lesser-known films. I’d highly recommend checking out his ‘Criminal Minds’ episode, and movies Big Stan and S. Darko – all impressive examples of his acting ability and range. I’m also looking forward to his role as ‘Sokka’ in the upcoming The Last Airbender – and have fingers crossed that his lower budget films: Dread, Hurt and Girlfriend will make their way to mainstream theaters.

The biggest surprise, however, was discovering that Jackson Rathbone has his own band, 100 Monkeys. I became a devoted Monkey’s fan this past June, when I had the great fortune and absolute pleasure of seeing them perform live in New York City. I’ll freely admit that I had no expectations of the show, since my limited grasp of their music – based on poor quality YouTube fan video – was that it was mainly ‘jazz’ oriented, not a type of music I usually favor, but ‘100 Monkey’s LIVE is nothing short of incredible! Much of the music is jazz-ish, but they play faster rock-type numbers too, and all of it wonderful to hear and to watch! In fact, I can’t imagine anyone not having a great time watching these guys perform! They were all having SO MUCH fun — I could not help but wonder whatever made Jackson want to go into acting, since he obviously loves his music with his whole heart! During the show he played guitar, keyboard, drums, and trumpet, as well as singing lead for most of the songs. They also do ‘improv’ songs, which consists of creating an entire song, music and lyrics, right on the spot; something that you just have to experience for yourself to believe!

It certainly doesn’t hurt the show, that the other guys who make up 100 Monkeys, (Jerad Anderson, Ben Johnson & Ben Graupner), are all quite cute, but it was difficult to pay them any attention, with Jackson there. Looking even more gorgeous in person than he does on screen; Jackson’s eyes are ‘immortally’ beautiful, and his SMILE…. ‘lights up the room’ does not begin to cover it! For days after the show, I saw that smile every time I closed my eyes, just like the ‘after image’ of a flash bulb!

OK, so at just short of his 25th birthday, Jackson Rathbone is an accomplished actor, part of one of the major pop-culture crazes of our time, a genius level musician and performer, and a drool-worthy male specimen besides! Talent, fame, fortune, and striking good looks – ‘too shallow’ you say? Well, by all reports he’s an absolute sweetheart to his cast mates, and to those fans who have been lucky enough to have a personal ‘encounter’ – he loves his mother (sporting a ‘Mom’ in a heart, tattoo) and is, dare I say, ‘super’ intelligent – and if you think that’s exaggerated, look up ‘Hundredth-monkey effect’ on Wikipedia! And that’s why, while the Twi-World divides itself between the Rob-sessed and the Wolf-girls… just call me ‘Team Jasper’!

Peter Facinelli

October 29, 2009 by Julianna

CarlisleFinally at 33, Peter Facinelli can afford to buy the one thing he’s always wanted…a Testla S Model car. Being cast in the role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight Franchise has catapulted this 15 year working actor into the public eye in a big way. Peter was hesitant to take the role of Dr. Cullen at first thinking a movie about vampires would be way too gory for his taste, but once he read Twilight, he was sold. He was he states, intrigued by vampires striving for humanity in their never-ending lives.

After reading Twilight, I was intrigued by which actor would live up to author Stephanie Myers’ description of Dr. Cullen. Just who would get that coveted role as the beautiful, model-like vampire with compassion for the human race? It seems there were plenty of actors around that wanted the role, but after personally sending director Katherine Hardwick a gift basket along with several conversations with her, Peter landed the role. And from the first time he walks through the swinging emergency room doors on the set of Twilight to the end of the movie, it’s obvious he is perfect for the role. His perfectly handsome face and kindly persona seem to fit exactly what Ms. Myers had in mind when she introduced her readers to the gentle and calm vampire, Dr. Carlisle Cullen.

Peter has been working in the movies and television business since 1995 and has a long list of accomplishments. He has appeared in “Law and Order”, “Six Feet Under” and “Damages” to name a few. Aside from the Twilight Saga, he is probably best known for his 2002 staring role in Fox’s “Fastlane” and most recently Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie”. Both roles show his wide range of acting abilities and natural appeal as a solid, dependable actor. Peter has appeared in noted movies such as Supernova and Riding in Cars With Boys. He is currently filming the third installment in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse and is working on next season’s “Nurse Jackie”.

I don’t know about you, but I can feel the excitement in the air as November 20 draws near. The word on the street has it that Dr. Cullen will have more action in the second installment of the Twilight Saga (read: face time). Nice! Included in the making of New Moon is a scene straight out of the book when Dr. Cullen reveals his philosophy on striving to become an honorable vampire who hurts no one. Judging from Peter’s former performance in Twilight, I think this scene in New Moon will be wonderful…an introduction into the life of Carlisle we didn’t see in Twilight. I can’t wait to see it.

One thing I admire about Peter is his willingness to use of his name to benefit many charities. He is not above letting his fans know about his propensity to raise money for cancer research and any other charity that needs help. And he’s not above letting his fans know what we should do to help either. Peter uses a Twitter account not only for charity purposes, but to give his fans a small glimpse into his busy life. Peter is an altruistic, down to earth guy who happens to be a handsome, kindly, talented actor and his fans love him for it.

Yes we do.

Cam Gigandet

October 1, 2009 by Ely Campos

Cam GigandetWhen I was asked to research Cam Gigandet in order to make his profile I had only his character as James in the Twilight movie as reference. (The performance was good in my opinion, albeit brief, the movie was also passable –unlike the book- but that’s beside the point). And then I got immersed in the world that was Cam. Going over interviews and learning that he had to train in ballet for his character in Twilight to improve his agility just made me respect him all the more.

This strapping, twice tattooed 27-year old Tacoma, Washington native began working in television in 2003, a mere two years after graduating high school. Some of the more notable TV work includes “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, “The Young and the Restless”, followed by participating briefly in the series “Jack & Bobby”. He also joined the cast of the popular “The O.C.” in which he played bad boy Kevin, the heartbreaker. He even killed off Mischa Barton (bonus points, hahaha).

His now very active movie career started off slowly in 2004 when he starred in the thriller Mistaken. Then in 2007 he participated in the movie Who’s Your Caddy. But it was the 2008 movie Never Back Down, co-starring along with Djimon Hounsou and Sean Faris, when Cam played bad guy Ryan McCarthy and showed off his black belt in Krav Maga (an Israeli Martial Art) that quicken the hearts of many a young and not so young women. For this movie he won an MTV Video Movie Award for best fight. Then of course there was that whole Twilight thing. Earlier this year we were trick and treated by him in the movie The Unborn (now available on DVD) along with Gary Oldman. Looks creepy huh? And at the end of September Cam’s new movie, Pandorum premiered with Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster (read Angel in X-Men); yet another thriller with a touch of horror/sci-fi. The plot seems interesting though so far the reviews are split. Psstt, he does a nude scene in this movie.

But good things are coming in the near future as Cam dabbles for the first time in drama in Five Star Day. The story actually seems very down to earth and something that happens to everyone. His horoscope promises an amazing 5 star day but everything that could go wrong, does. Sounds an awful lot like Murphy’s Law to me (Murphy and I are like THIS you see). In 2010 we will see him in Kerosene Cowboys, playing the starring role as a dishonorably charged NAVY pilot that is given the chance to clear his name. Lets hope that it’s half as cool as Top Gun, although a lot of young men, with military fit bodies can’t be all bad… right? Can you say Shane West? Next we have The Experiment in which he co-stars with along with Forest Whitaker, Adrian Brody and hottie Travis Fimmel (google this guy, he’s too hot), yet another drama/thriller about a psychological experiment in which several volunteers portray the roles of guards and prisoners. Sounds like an interesting idea for a reality show if you ask me.

Then there comes the comedy Easy A. The plot is not too riveting in which a high school student uses the rumor mill to climb socially. But hey his characters name is Micah, and me being an Anita Blake fan at least I have to hold out hope that this doesn’t suck. Afterward he’s in The Roommate in which he’s immersed in between two females that share a dorm and then some crime or mystery ensues.

Currently he is filming the movie Priest, from the comic book by the same name in which Priest Ivan Isaacs, played by Paul Bettany, disobeys the church in order to track the vampires that kidnapped his niece. Let me just say: VAMPIRES!! The comic book is a post apocalyptic horror thriller blending Wild West elements with the supernatural. Karl Urban joined the cast in which he portrays the lead bloodsucker. Be still my fangirl heart, Karl… as a vampire… swoons. Oh right, sorry… now back to Cam :D

For 2011 we have 3 movies:
Making Change, based on a true story about a homeless newspaper with the same name, the exposes controversial legislation and takes up the fight against the government that wants to treat private citizens and churches into criminals for giving away food in public.

Pinkville, about an investigation of the My Lai Massacre, he shared the credits with Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum and Jason Behr… nice on the manflesh selection. This is being directed by Oliver Stone.

Kid Cannabis, a story based on the true story of Nate Norman, a 19 yr old that grew a multi-million dollar marijuana ring, written and directed by John Stockwell.

This guy’s been busy! Hope all the information didn’t overwhelm you, but this guys future’s so bright, he’s gotta wear shades… and THAT is why he’s featured in this month’s Ones2Watch4.

Alexander Skarsgård

June 18, 2009 by Jennifer Rayner

Alexander Skarsgård - Season 2 PosterConfession time. I have a kink for vampires. The undead don’t generally have to work terribly hard to endear themselves to me. And if that vampire happen to be six feet and four inches of pure Nordic gorgeousness, then their job is even easier. Step up to the plate, Alexander Skarsgård.

It may be his current role as enigmatic Viking vampire Eric Northman in HBO’s True Blood that has raised his international profile, but Skarsgård has long been an established star in his native Sweden. Son of renowned actor Stellan Skarsgård, Alexander made his own screen debut at just seven years of age, and went on to become a popular child star. Unnerved by his growing celebrity, he turned his back on acting at the age of thirteen to pursue other interests. He studied Political Science, served in the Swedish Marines, and was contemplating a return to school to study architecture when the acting bug finally bit him once more. Since then he has accumulated over fifteen international film and television credits, not to mention been voted Sweden’s sexiest man no fewer than five times. Eat your heart out, George Clooney!

He made his Hollywood debut with a small role in the movie Zoolander (2001), but it was in the acclaimed mini-series Generation Kill (2007) that he really made his mark. Shrugging off initial doubts about his casting, he completely dropped his Swedish accent to convincingly portray real life US Marine Sgt Brad ‘Iceman’ Colbert, earning widespread critical praise and no doubt bringing him to the attention of the True Blood casting bods.

With a strong pedigree and obvious talent already in his favor, Alexander’s growing legion of female fans will also be pleased to learn that this is one thespian who isn’t exactly precious when it comes to taking his clothes off. As well as a joking insistence that he should have nude scenes written into all his contracts, he has also claimed that he will pose as a Playgirl centerfold in exchange for “a chicken burrito and a pint of strawberry ice cream.”

So with True Blood returning this month for its second season, shall this sexy Swede be putting his money where his mouth is and giving us Eric Northman in the buff? We can only wait and see. In the meantime, does anybody have a good recipe for a chicken burrito?
