You’ve probably never heard of Matthew Goode before…or you’ve heard the name but can’t quite put a face to it. This young, up-and-coming British actor (another one, I know!) was first introduced to me as the one redeeming factor in that terrible, poor-man’s-Roman-Holiday-Mandy-Moore-chick-flick, Chasing Liberty. I was worried going to see this much hyped movie. I had never read the graphic novel so I was afraid I wasn’t going to understand what has been heralded as the best comic series ever and thought to be unfilm-able. Anyone with a decent base in Sci-Fi /fantasy films and books will have no trouble with this one. The themes are universal, the plot more a “who-dun-it” mystery (complete with the villain monologueing). Read more

He sings, he dances, he acts and he looks fetching in a pair of swim trunks. That’s it; Patrick Wilson is the perfect man! It’s no mystery why this Broadway Baby is making a splash on the big screen.
The first time I saw Patrick was when he was wearing a white puffy shirt and singing “All I Ask of You” in film version of Phantom of the Opera. Not being a fan of the musical it wasn’t the most memorable way to be introduced to this Tony award-nominated actor. I didn’t have to wait long for another crack at him. Starting with the hard-hitting Hard Candy in 2005 and then Little Children in 2006 Patrick began making a name for himself as a serious indie actor. Little Children in particular garnered some critical success and a few Oscar nominations.
Next Patrick was the object of desire for most of the cast (including ones2watch4’s Hugh Dancy) in Evening. Talk about your typecasting. And after battling with the next door neighbor from hell (Lakeview Terrace) Wilson became a masked crime fighter in the epic graphic novel brought to screen Watchmen. His performance as Dan, the second Night Owl, stands out as one of the film’s best. I’m pretty sure after people will be a little more in tune with this very talented actor.
