Daniel Henney is an enigma wrapped in a conundrum wrapped in an Armani suit. (Props to the writers of The Simpson’s for that!) From the American Midwest, Henney made a huge splash as a model and actor in Korea. I mean they go nuts for him over there. So how is it I didn’t know of this man existence until he shot his way into my heart in X-Men Origins: Wolverine earlier this summer? A secret this good-looking should never be kept under wraps. It needs to be shared with the world! Read more

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Hugh Jackman may be the sexiest man alive, but he has got some major competition in this film. It’s a virtual meat market for tastes of all kinds and for those who aren’t that picky and appreciate the male species.
After the disappointment that was the last two X-Men movies, I didn’t go into this with any more expectation than just being entertained.
Despite a few slow spots here and there, and a bit too long history of wars sequence in the beginning, I have to say I enjoyed this. It’s not hard to look at Hugh Jackman for an hour and a half.  Heck, I would have paid $20 to watch naked Hugh for the seconds we got of him jumping and running in the buff. Who wouldn’t? The hair and sideburns were even an improvement for his previous stint at Wolverine!
Then we get to his cast mates. Liev Schreiber (enough said in my book, there is not much you can say about his perfection), Ryan Reynolds (looking VERY buff and not an ounce of nerd to be seen), Will i Am (bringing cool to the X-Men), Daniel Henney (model perfect and deadly good looks) and, finally, the cherry on top, Taylor Kitsch (yum, yum, yum). I could seriously watch an entire film with Taylor reading the phone book and not get bored.
Yes, my shallow, middle aged self was there for the hotties. I won’t lie. As a bonus, we did get a decent story that had you connecting this beginning to the X-Men films that have already hit the big screen. My 13 year old was quite engaged and there were a lot of lightbulbs going off above her head as she connected Sabertooth, Scott Summers and the rescuer of the island children to X-Men 1.
All in all, thanks Hugh, for being you and bringing some of your sexy friends along for the ride. It was a hellavu show!
Taylor Kitsch

I have a deep dark and potentially embarrassing secret: I can’t stop watching The Covenant (2006). Every once in a while it goes into heavy rotation on cable. If I happen upon it while channel surfing, I become transfixed and unable to turn away from all the cute boys. Taylor Kitsch is a major part of the problem. The 6 ft. tall Canadian lad is far too distracting when he’s shirtless and don’t even get me started about guys on motorcycles. Well Taylor has been gifted with the opportunity to create a beloved comic book character for the big screen and he’s doing it opposite the Mac Daddy of X-Men, Hugh Jackman. None of us are going to survive this.
Taylor is probably recognized from his work on the critically acclaimed TV series “Friday Night Lights” where he plays Tim Riggins, a dark and brooding football player in a small Texas town. Apparently he was in Snakes on a Plane but I didn’t see that. If you have, God bless. Leave a comment on how Taylor looked since acting wasn’t really required in that one. It’s going to be his work as Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine that will thrust this guy into the limelight. Gambit is a favorite character among fans of the X-men universe. In fact at the 2008 International Comic-Con, star Jackman brought some rough footage and people went nuts at their first glimpse of the playing card toting mutant. So a lot of pressure is going to be on our guy here. Something tells me such responsibility will weigh just fine on those shoulders.
As of press time Taylor is filming The Bang Bang Club, a movie about a group of photojournalists chronicling the final days of Apartheid in South Africa. That promises to be a powerful and haunting film. It looks like this young actor is making an impression on more important people than me. He’ll be around tempting us with rippling muscles and misunderstood bad boy characters for a long while. Oh look, The Covenant is starting in a little while….

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Poster 1
May should be the “Men of Wolverine” Month and with good reason. Have you seen the fire power this one movie has?
Of course there’s Hugh Jackman revisiting his famous role of Wolverine but add to that Liev Schrieber as “Sabertooth”, Ryan Reynolds as “Deadpool”, Taylor Kitsch as “Gambit” and Dominic Monaghan as “Beak”. The official site and Facebook pages are mum as to plot but from what I can gather from the trailers we see how Wolverine came into existence and his initial friendship with “Sabertooth” who would eventually betray him. But really, does story matter? Sometimes it just gets in the way.
